A US backed resolution in the UN Security Council is approved by unanimous consent resulting in the dispatching of 10,000 peace keeping troops to Sudan. Now, if the UN can keep their "Peacekeepers" from raping and sexually exploiting the people they are protecting, this will much more than the Arab League has been able to accomplish.
A Canadian court has refused to grant asylum to Army coward (and deserter) Jeremy Hinzman.
"Removal to the U.S. would not subject [the Hinzman family] personally to a risk to their lives or to a risk of cruel and unusual treatment or punishment," said the ruling, posted on the board's website.
"Hinzman has brought forward no evidence to support his allegation that he would not be accorded the full protection of the law pursuant to the court-martial process."
And that's pretty much because such evidence doesn't exit.
Hopefully he'll be back in the US and we can apply the gentle and usual punishment afforded to deserters.
