Local leaders and Soldiers combine efforts to renovate school
KIRKUK, Iraq – The Dibis City Council, Al Baderi Tribe Leaders and Soldiers from Task Force 2-11 Field Artillery conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the renovated South Hiteen Village School here on December 28.
Improving the educational facilities of local schools is an important step towards creating a bright future for the citizens of Iraq.
Recently, the Arab Shiite children of South Hiteen Village became the benefactors of a renovated school, which will provide an improved learning environment for children from the area. The Soldiers from Task Force 2-11 Field Artillery, in cooperation with local education officials, coordinated for $30,000 of Commander’s Emergency Relief Program funding for the renovation project.
In addition to improving the educational opportunities for local children, the school renovation project provided economic benefits to the local citizens involved in renovating the school.
