Senator Kerry has accused Republicans of preventing African Americans from voting in the 2000 election, intimidating them now and planning to prevent them from voting in November.
Speaking to a gala gathering of the Congressional Black Caucus, Senator Kerry alluded to - but did not spell out - instances of intimidation and deterrence already documented in this campaign season. "We are not going to stand by and allow another million African-American votes to go uncounted in this election," he said. "What they did in Florida in 2000, some say they may be planning to do this year in battleground states all across this country. Well, we are here to let them know that we will fight tooth and nail to make sure that this time, every vote is counted and every vote counts."
All of this while not presenting a shred of proof.
But this is consistent with his whole campaign strategy; divide America, create discord, and hope to put the country and it's foreign policy back together after he wins the election.
He has furthered this by fostering class warfare with his Two Americas campaign borrowed from Senator Edwards nomination bid.
He has futher fostered this by claiming that all of America's allies are part of a coalition of the bribed and the coerced.
And now that African Americans will be denied their vote.
And what does any of this have to do with the real problems facing this country? It is simply not necessary for Kerry to invent problems.
What we want to know is how he would deal with the problems we already have.
The fact is that the very issue most Americans are interested in is an issue the Senator avoids like a journalist; what he would do about the war on Islamic fascists.
Instead of promoting a unifying vision, the Kerry campaign seeks to divide us.
Instead of promoting a unified global coalition, he alienates our allies.
The politics of division can never encourage a consensus that benefits all. It can only pit countrymen against each other and leave us isolated in the world.
The very things Kerry claims are happening today are the very things he is promoting.
I noticed at the ceremony, your corrupt ways had finally made you blind
I can't remember your face anymore, your mouth has changed, your eyes
don't look into mine.
The priest wore black on the seventh day and sat stone-faced while the building
burned.
I waited for you on the running boards, near the cypress trees, while the springtime
turned Slowly into autumn.Idiot wind, blowing like a circle around my skull,
From the Grand Coulee Dam to the Capitol.
Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your teeth,
You're an idiot, babe.
It's a wonder that you still know how to breathe.-Bob Dylan
