Counting

The media is exploiting the fact that 1,000 soldiers have died in defense of freedom as a result of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Senator Kerry, believeing (again) that the war is wrong did not hesitate to mention the fact on the campaign trail.

What I wonder is this; why doesn't the media keep a running count the number of people killed by terrorism?

It would look something like this:

And this doesn't include the children mudered by Islamic fascists in Russia this week.

Senator Kerry wants us to pull out of Iraq in 4 years

Will that reduce then numbers on this chart? Will that give meaning to the 1000 lives lost to date or waste them the way the lives of the soldiers killed in Mogadishu were wasted when Clinton pulled out?

But the Senator doesn't get it.

The President does get it. He said today

“We mourn every loss of life,” he said. “We will honour their memories by completing the mission.”

“Ultimately we will prevail because liberty changes countries, liberty changes the habits of people, liberty promotes peace. And that’s why we appreciate the sacrifice of the men and women who wear the uniform,” Bush said. ”They’re serving a great cause.

Let's see the Press and Senator Kerry start counting the terrorist victims along with the US military casualties.

Only this way can we give context and meaning to the numbers.
