Yesterday, Senator Coleman called for Kofi Annan to resign his post as Secretary General of the UN. Today, member States respond with letters of support for Mr Annan. The thing is, it's not just the fact that the UN Oil for Food scam is the largest moeny heist ever; dwarfing even the Enron debacle, but in addition we have the sex scandal involving UN Peacekeepers that no one seems to want to do anything about. It got all this attention in 2002 but here we are in 2004 and it's still going on! He apparently can not even control his own senior staff from perpetrating harrasment of UN employees. Who is repsonsible if not the Secretary General? What would happen to any government or business leader who had a similar record? Meanwhile, The Belmont Club discusses the proposed changes to the Security Council. And the UN is calling for closed-door talks on the Congo. Good, just what we need are more closed doors at the UN. And talk....
