John, the Mighty Fusileer of Castle Argghhh has put together a post that highlights the important points of the discovery of the Sarin gas artillary munition.
And Fox news reports that the shell contained three or four liters of the nerve agent in unmarked canisters.
And what does Mr (I'm up for a nobel prize against Bush and Blair, oh and by the way I'm also selling a book that tells everyone how smart I am and how stupid Bush and Blair are to improve my chances for winning said prize) Blix have to say about this?
Blix said today that the discovery of the nerve agent was not a sign that Saddam Hussein's regime possessed weapons of mass destruction before the war last year.
Uh huh...
Blix reiterated that his inspectors found no such weapons in the run-up to the invasion.
Well no surprise there, they were marked as though they were regular artillary rounds.
Why would Saddam do this?
Maybe he was trying to fool Mr Blix and His Super UN Inspection Team? Ya think?
"We found a dozen warheads that were intended for chemical weapons and they were empty," he said.
Well these weren't empty Mr Smarty Pants. So now what?
Yeah, to the extent this story makes it out of Big Media to the American Street (most likely most through the blogosphere though Fox is running the story) this is good news for Bush and Co.
But I'm afraid there's a downside.
The guys who had this stuff probably didn't know what it was they had, these shells being all unmarked and all.
But now they do.
I think Mr Hans Blix should be made to go to Iraq to find what he was supposed to find....
But didn't.
